Thales: implementation of '4-Flight' system on track
(CercleFinance.com) - In an update provided this morning, Thales Group and the French Air Navigation Services Department, DSNA, say they that are "on the right track" to implement 4-Flight, the new-generation airborne en-route traffic management system.
Thus, 4-Flight is set to be implemented in two pilot centres (Marseille and Reims) in the winter of 2021/2022. Meanwhile, the centre in Paris, is expected to be operational in the winter of 2022/2023.
"4-FLight achieved a number of significant milestones in 2018 based on incremental deployment principles, live system trials, which began in 2017 at the Marseille and Reims ACCs during reduced night-time service hours, and have continued successfully, even with the complexity of these trials progressively increasing. Software version validations are also taking place incrementally, and feedback on the latest release has been very positive," Thales and the DSNA pointed out.
