Thales: research protocol for Australian submarines
(CercleFinance.com) - On Emmanuel Macron's visit to Australia, Thales has announced a memorandum of understanding in the field of research with Flinders University in Adelaide and ENSTA Bretagne, in order to contribute to the future program of Australian submarines.
The MoU creates a sustainable framework for collaboration in the field of naval robotics for submarines and sonar facilities on surface ships, said Chris Jenkins, CEO of Thales Australia.
Discussions have identified two areas of collaboration: a demonstrator for the automatic connection of marine optoelectronic links, and autonomous surface vehicles to test decision-making algorithms on robots at sea.
