Thales: contract for railway modernisation in Turkey.
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales has announced that it has been selected for the Başkentray project in Turkey, which is for the renovation of railway signaling on the traditional, high-speed and suburban lines of the 36 km stretch that connects Sincan to Kayaş via Ankara.
This new project includes the deployment of a central traffic control system, electronic interlocking systems and automatic protection systems for level 1 and 2 ETCS trains.
With this project, Turkish capital will be connected via the new Sincan North-Ankara-Kayaş line to the Ankara-Istanbul high-speed line, which has been in service since 2009 and which is equipped with Thales' technology.
