Faurecia: under pressure from Peugeot SA/FCA merger
(CercleFinance.com) - After falling by nearly 6% yesterday, the Faurecia share is down more than 3% this morning in Paris, while the capital of this equipment manufacturer, a subsidiary of Peugeot SA, will be heavily affected, if the French car manufacturer manages to successfully merge with the Italian-American group Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA).
Indeed, the merger plan between these two European giants provides that before the merger is completed, Peugeot SA would distribute its 46% stake in Faurecia to its shareholders, according to the group's statement.
As of 30 June, Faurecia's interim financial report states that Peugeot SA held 46.34% of the capital, which represent 63.11% of its voting rights.
