LVMH: in preliminary talks with Tiffany

1% in early trading in Paris on Monday, hence outperforming the CAC 40, which is barely afloat (-0.06% at 9.20 am), while the world leader in luxury goods "confirms that it has held preliminary discussions regarding a possible transaction with Tiffany".
In a terse statement following recent market rumours, the French group nevertheless says that "There can be no assurance that these discussions will result in any agreement" with the US jeweler.
