Pernod Ricard: takes minority stake in ecoSPIRITS
(CercleFinance.com) - Pernod Ricard announces that it has acquired a minority stake in ecoSPIRITS, a start-up specialising in premium wine and spirits distribution systems that limit CO2 emissions and waste production.
The Group participated in ecoSPIRITS' $10m Series A financing alongside Closed Loop Partners, a circular economy investment fund, and other leading Asian and international investors.
ecoSPIRITS' refillable containers not only deliver significant cost savings but also drastically reduce CO2 emissions and waste by eliminating the manufacture and transportation of glass bottles and their packaging, it said.
Pernod Ricard was one of the first companies to partner with ecoSPIRITS in March 2022 to distribute some of its premium brands to bars in Hong Kong and Singapore.
