Sanofi: acquires Tidal Therapeutics
(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday Sanofi announced the acquisition of Tidal Therapeutics, an unlisted biotech company specialising in the preclinical development of therapeutic agents using a unique mRNA technology for in-vivo reprogramming of immune cells.
"The new technology platform will expand Sanofi's research capabilities in both immuno-oncology and inflammatory diseases, while likely having broad applicability to other disease areas as well," Sanofi said.
The acquisition of Tidal Therapeutics means that Sanofi will make an initial investment of 160 million dollars, to which will be added milestone payments of up to 310 million dollars, depending on achieving different development milestones.
