Vallourec: successful operation for Serimax
(CercleFinance.com) - Steel tube specialist Vallourec announces that Serimax, its welding subsidiary, has been appointed to weld 2.
93 km of steel catenary risers (SCR) for Lingshui 17-2, a deepwater gas field project in China.
On 28 February 2021, the 6-inch line that Serimax had welded was recovered from the seabed and connected to the semi-submersible without any problems, Vallourec said.
The 1,450-metre depth of the field presented a significant technical hurdle due to the fatigue sensitivity of the SCR.
