L'Oréal: remains confident in targets for 2020

(CercleFinance.com) - L'Oréal says that the start of 2020 has indeed been hit by the Coronavirus (COVID-19), which is impacting the Beauty market in several geographic areas and in Travel Retail for a period that is, at this stage difficult to assess.

The cosmetics giant says that it is doing everything in its power to prioritise the safety of L'Oréal employees in countries that are affected by this health crisis.

The group adds that the experience of similar situations in the past (SARS, MERS, etc.) shows that after a period of turbulence, the consumption of beauty products kicks off again.

As of the filing date of its Registration Document and considering that this epidemic and the disturbances it generates will not exceed a few months and will run like the previous crises, it is confident in its ability to outperform the Beauty market once again this year, achieving another year of growth in both sales and earnings, it adds.
