L'Oréal: makes 'digital acquisition' in Canada

(CercleFinance.com) - L'Oréal, this morning announces the takeover of the Canadian company ModiFace, representing a “digital acquisition” which it has presented as a specialist in "augmented reality and (artificial) intelligence applied to beauty".


The financial terms of this deal have not been specified.
Founded in Toronto in 2007, this "beauty tech" company "has developed advanced technologies of 3D virtual make-up, color and skin diagnosis services using proprietary know-how which track facial features and color, and are used by nearly all the major beauty brands," said the global cosmetics giant.

ModiFace boasts expertise, as it employs "nearly 70 engineers, researchers and scientists who have submitted more than 200 scientific publications and registered over thirty patents."
