Total: agreements reached for Lake Albert project
(CercleFinance.com) - Total has announced that it has reached the final agreements necessary to launch the Lake Albert Development Project, which includes the Tilenga and Kingfisher upstream oil projects in Uganda and the construction of the EACOP pipeline in Uganda and Tanzania.
The Tilenga project, operated by Total, and the Kingfisher project, operated by CNOOC, are expected to reach a combined plateau production of 230,000 barrels per day, which will be delivered via the EACOP cross-border pipeline jointly owned by Total, UNOC, TPDC and CNOOC.
Total said that the main engineering, procurement and construction contracts will be awarded shortly, and construction will then be able to start. The first oil exports are planned for early 2025.
