Total: set to renew Patrick Pouyanné's mandate
(CercleFinance.com) - Total's board of directors has decided to propose the renewal of Patrick Pouyanné's term as director, a move that would extend his tenure as Chairman and CEO until 2024.
The renewal of his term will be submitted to shareholders for approval at the next AGM which is scheduled for 28 May, the group said.
Appointed CEO of Total in 2014 and then Chairman and CEO in 2015, Patrick Pouyanné was reappointed in 2018 for a three-year term.
In order to replace Carlos Tavares, who wished to leave the board, Total decided to propose to the AGM the appointment of Jacques Aschenbroich, the CEO of the automotive supplier Valeo.
Finally, the Board of Directors plans to take the initiative of submitting a resolution to the AGM on the transition to CO2-neutrality for TotalEnergies, the group's future corporate name.
