Total: inaugurates new Saft plant in China
(CercleFinance.com) - Saft, a battery subsidiary of Total, announced that it has just inaugurated a new energy storage solutions (ESS) production site in Zhuhai, China, which will strengthen its capacity to support the transition to renewable energy.
The production capacity of the new 6,600 m2 plant will be approximately 200 containers per year, equivalent to 480 MWh, making Zhuhai one of Saft's three strategic production hubs, with Bordeaux (France) and Jacksonville (US).
The Zhuhai plant already manufactures Intensium Max 20 High Energy containers. These were launched in 2019 to provide a state-of-the-art solution with power of 1.2 MW and storage capacity of 2.5 MWh.
