Total: to transform its Grandpuits refinery
(CercleFinance.com) - Total plans to transform its Grandpuits refinery (Seine-et-Marne) into a zero-oil platform for biofuels and bioplastics.
This transformation is being carried out as part of the group's strategy to become CO2 neutral.
By 2024, thanks to an investment of over 500 million euros, the platform will be built around four new industrial activities: the production of biofuels mainly for the aviation sector, the production of bioplastics, the recycling of plastics and the operation of two photovoltaic solar power plants.
At the same time, the refining of crude oil will be stopped in the first quarter of 2021 and the storage of petroleum products at the end of 2023.
