Total: partnership with Siemens in LNG
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens announced on Thursday that it will team up with Total in developing the means of production of low-emission liquefied natural gas (LNG).
This partnership states that Siemens' energy division will be responsible for conducting a whole series of studies on various plant projects, with the aim of "decarbonising" LNG production.
Siemens states that it intends to examine a number of concepts, such as the use of gas turbines and electric motor compression trains, complementing well-known technologies, such as single-mixed refrigerant and double-mixed refrigerant technologies.
Siemens' involvement will also include heat recovery systems, inlet air chilling, supplementary firing, renewables integration and battery storage.
