Total: joins coalition for decarbonisation of shipping
(CercleFinance.com) - Total announces that it has joined the "Getting to Zero Coalition" to contribute to the International Maritime Organisation's aim for maritime transport to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 50% by 2050 compared to 2008.
"To that extent, the Coalition is aiming, through its members, at getting commercially viable deep-sea zero-emission vessels powered by zero-emission fuels into operation by 2030," Total said.
Total intends to make its contribution to the Coalition by sharing its expertise, particularly in the priority areas of fuel, marine lubricants and zero-emission technologies applied to ships.
