Total: signs agreements for photovoltaic project in Qatar
(CercleFinance.com) - Total announces that it has signed agreements for the development of the Al Kharsaah Solar PV IPP Project, an 800-megawatt-peak (MWp) solar power plant located 80 km west of Doha, in Qatar.
The project will be developed and operated by SPV Siraj 1, jointly owned by the consortium formed of Total Solar International and Marubeni (40%), alongside Siraj Energy (60%), a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and Qatar Electricity & Water Company.
Al Kharsaah will supply the Qatari network and supply industries, services and individuals from 2021 with an initial capacity of 350 MWp before reaching its full capacity in 2022. It will represent around 10% of the country's peak electricity demand.
