Total: final investment decision on Artic LNG 2
(CercleFinance.com) - Total, Novatek and the other shareholders of the Arctic LNG 2 project have approved the final investment decision (FID) for this major development of liquefied natural gas (LNG) located on the Gydan Peninsula in Russia.
The project will have a production capacity of 19.8 million tonnes per year (Mtpa), with the first Arctic LNG 2 LNG cargo is expected in 2023. The second and third trains will start in 2024 and 2026 respectively.
Total says that it has a 10% direct stake in Arctic LNG 2, as well as an indirect stake of 11.6% through its 19.4% stake in Novatek. Its overall financial participation in the project therefore amounts to 21.6%.
