Total: sells shares to Qatar Petroleum in three countries
(CercleFinance.com) - Total announces the signing of several agreements with Qatar Petroleum enabling it to acquire part of the oil and gas group's stakes in its mining activities in Namibia, Guyana and Kenya.
Total will thus sell 30% of block 2913B and 28.33% of block 2912 in the Orange basin off Namibia to Qatar Petroleum. A first exploration well is planned for next year on block 2913B.
Qatar Petroleum will have 40% of the company holding Total's shares on the Orinduik block (25%) and Kanuku (25%) in Guyana. Finally, together with ENI, Total will transfer a combined 25% stake in blocks L11A, L11B and L12 offshore Kenya.
