Total: signs MoU for LNG with Sempra
(CercleFinance.com) - Sempra Energy and Total announce signing a memorandum of understanding for projects to export liquid natural gas (LNG), in North America and first and foremost the development of Cameron LNG projects in Louisiana and Energía Costa Azul (ECA) in Lower California (Mexico).
This provides that Total will take up up to 9 million tonnes (Mtpa) of LNG per year from the projects Cameron LNG Phase 2 and Energia Costa Azul (ECA) LNG. As a 16.6% shareholder of the Cameron LNG project, it may also become a shareholder of the ECA LNG project.
The French energy group specifies that the development of LNG export units is subject to a number of risks and uncertainties, and that the confirmation of its participation remains subject to the signing of final agreements.
