Total: sale of bituminous sands project in Canada
(CercleFinance.com) - Total has announced that it has agreed with its partners to sell the Joslyn Oil Sands Project, located in Alberta, Canada, to Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) for a total of 225 million Canadian dollars (c.

Following the fall of oil prices in 2014, the partners of the Joslyn project decided to suspend its development. Since then, the project's activity has been limited to meeting regulatory requirements and ensuring the site's safety.
This transaction remains subject to approval by the Canadian Competition Bureau. Joslyn project partners include Total (operator; 38.25%), Suncor Energy Joslyn Partnership (36.75%), Joslyn Partnership (15%) and Inpex Canada Ltd (10%).
