Total: to take a stake in Arctic LNG 2
(CercleFinance.com) - Total has announced that it has signed an agreement with Novatek to take a direct 10% stake in Arctic LNG 2, the new giant liquefied natural gas project promoted by Novatek, located on the Gydan Peninsula in northern Siberia.
Considering that Total holds about 19% of Novatek's capital and that Novatek wants to keep 60% of the project, Total's overall financial stake participation in this new LNG project will henceforth represent about 21.5%.
Both companies also agreed that Total will be able to acquire a direct stake of between 10% and 15% in all Novatek's future LNG projects, located on the Yamal and Gydan peninsulas.
