Total: MoU for gas project in Oman
(CercleFinance.com) - Total has announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Oman to jointly develop with Shell (respectively 25% for Total and 75% for Shell), natural gas resources in the Sultanate.
Both groups will develop several gas discoveries located ashore on Block 6 in the Greater Barik area, with an initial gas production target of about 500 million cubic feet per day, which could reach up to one billion cubic feet thereafter.
Total will use its share of gas to develop a regional division in Oman to provide a liquefied natural gas fuel service to ships through the construction of a small modular liquefaction unit at the port of Sohar.
