Total: sells interest in Norway.
(CercleFinance.com) - Total has announced that with Statoil it has agreed to sell all of its interests in the Martin Linge oilfield (51%) and the Garantiana discovery (40%) on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, a deal which involves the transfer of all employees concerned.
This transaction will amount to 1.45 billion dollars, and will be effective from 1 January 2017. The transaction remains subject to final due diligence and approval from the appropriate authorities.
However, Arnaud Breuillac, President, Exploration & Production at Total said that "Norway remains a strategic country for Total as one of the largest contributors to the Group's production."
