Carrefour: rolls out e-commerce services in France

(CercleFinance.com) - As part of its transformation plan, Carrefour wants to accelerate the deployment of its food e-commerce services in France.

The company has announced that it will increase the number of its shops or points of contact offering an e-commerce service to 2,000 by the end of 2021: these shops will offer either drive-through, pedestrian drive-through, next-day home delivery, one-hour express delivery, etc.

Carrefour aims to focus on medium-sized towns. Each shop will be free to set up the service best suited to its catchment area. Thus, a D+1 delivery service will be offered in Carrefour shops in 330 towns, and express delivery in 200 towns by the end of the year.

17 new shops will also offer home delivery by the end of March, which will enable the chain to serve 69 new towns.
