Carrefour: Q3 sales up 2.3%

(CercleFinance.com) - Sales including tax rose 2.
3% like-for-like in Q3 to 20,199 million euros, up 1.5% at constant exchange rates, while at current exchange rate sales rose by 0.7%.

Sales including tax for the first nine months increased by 3.1% like-for-like to 58,992 million euros, up 1.9% at constant exchange rates. After a negative FX impact of -2.4%, the total change in sales at current exchange rates reaches -0.5%.

In France, Q3 2019 sales are down 0.9% in comparable terms (stable LFL in food and -6.7% LFL in non-food).

In Europe (+0.4% LFL), the sequential improvement has been confirmed, with the best comparable growth achieved since the announcement of the Carrefour 2022 plan.

Carrefour has reinstated its aims and confirms the financial targets of the Carrefour 2022 plan. The group aims to implement a savings plan of 2.6 billion euros in 2020, with 4.2 billion euros in food e-commerce sales in 2022 and 4.8 billion euros in organic product sales in 2022.
