Air Liquide: power purchase agreement in Netherlands
(CercleFinance.com) - Air Liquide says it has signed a long-term power purchase agreement with Vattenfall, one of Europe's leading energy suppliers, to buy the production of 25 megawatts of wind power capacity in the Netherlands.
The 15-year long-term contract, which is the first of its kind signed by the Group in the Netherlands, will provide renewable energy to some of its industrial and medical gas production units in the country.
Over the contract's duration, Air Liquide will source about 15% of its current electricity consumption in the Netherlands from renewable sources. The amount consumed will avoid a total of 750,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
