Air Liquide: new long-term contract with Severstal
(CercleFinance.com) - Air Liquide announces that it has signed a new long-term contract with the Russian steel and mining group Severstal for the supply of oxygen, nitrogen and argon to Cherepovets in the European part of Russia.
The French group will invest around 50 million euros in the construction of a state-of-the-art air separation unit (ASU), which will improve the energy efficiency and overall environmental footprint of the Severstal site.
Air Liquide's total production capacity at this site will now be increased to over 7,000 tonnes of oxygen per day, making Cherepovets one of the largest industrial gas production units in the steel industry in the world.
