Air Liquide: participates in creation of Japanese consortium

(CercleFinance.com) - Air Liquide and 10 major Japanese companies from different industries, including finance, have created the "Japan H2 Mobility" consortium which aims to accelerate the deployment in Japan of stations and cars running on hydrogen, we learned after trading on Monday.

For the Japanese Government, the 11 founding companies will contribute to the development of a large-scale hydrogen infrastructure in order to build a network of 320 stations by 2025, and 900 by 2030.

Nearly 100 stations are already in operation in Japan. Initially, the consortium's 11 members plan to provide 80 new hydrogen stations over the next 4 years, in order to power a fleet of almost 40,000 electric cars with hydrogen.

Air Liquide will itself install and operate 20 stations by 2021.
