Air Liquide: takes stake in Diabeloop.
(CercleFinance.com) - Air Liquide announced after trading on Monday that it has acquired a stake in the French start-up company Diabeloop.
This stake has been taken through ALIAD, the chemical group's venture capital division.
Founded by diabetologists from the CERITD (Centre for studies and research for the Intensification of the treatment of
diabetes), in partnership with CEA Leti, Diabeloop designs an electronic artificial pancreas with an insulin pump as a "patch" and a connected blood glucose sensor. Piloted by an algorithm, this system will automate the issuance of insulin to replicate the functions of the failing pancreas.
