Safran: in talks to buy Air Liquide's subsidiary
(CercleFinance.com) - Safran announced on Thursday that it had entered into exclusive negotiations with Air Liquide with a view to acquiring its aeronautical oxygen business.
Safran says that the transaction would enable it to strengthen the oxygen systems business of its subsidiary Safran Aerosystems.
This division designs equipment to ensure the safety of crews and passengers on board civil and military aircraft, as well as helicopters.
It currently employs nearly 500 people in the US and France.
With a workforce of around 220, the business reported 2022 sales of over E40m.
Safran says that the transaction could be completed in early 2024.
