Safran: inaugurates new plant in Mexico
(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday, Saffran and Albany inaugurated a third jointly-owned factory for the production of composite parts of the LEAP engine in Mexico.
This third joint site of Saffran and Albany, which is both similar and complementary to those of Rochester (United States) and Commercy (France), which were inaugurated in 2014, represents a total investment of about 100 million dollars.
The site mainly makes composite woven 3D blades for CFM International's LEAP engine.
Following the momentum of the LEAP program, later this site will also produce rectifier blades, for which investments will begin this year, aiming to deliver the first part in January 2019.
