Safran: selected for USMC Sniper Range Finder.
(CercleFinance.com) - The Marines Corps, part of the US armed forces, has selected Safran's I-CUGR (Integrated Compact Ultralight Gun-mounted Rangefinder) rangefinder.
The initial order is for 315 units with deliveries beginning this year. The financial details of the contract have not been disclosed.
The deal was won by Safran's subsidiary Optics 1, which will manufacture rangefinders at its US plant in New Hampshire.
"The I-CUGR is a small, lightweight, and rugged weapon-mounted laser rangefinder with integrated illumination and aiming lasers that will give USMC the ability to quickly range targets without taking hands off their rifles - providing more accurate first round hits," the French aeronautics and defense group said.
