Kone: wins another metro contract in China
(CercleFinance.com) - Finnish lift maker Kone said on Thursday that it has won an order to supply 187 elevators and escalators to a new metro line in China, its most dynamic market at the moment.
The 30-kilometer-long line is intended to help to relieve traffic burden along the subway system of Xi'an and will offer commuters a way to travel to the norteastern part of this cultural, industrial and educational city, one of the oldest in the country.
The Xi'an metro currently has five lines in use, and 10 more lines are planned to be added in the next few years.
The contract includes two years of standard maintenance, Kone said.
