Kone: wins 169 escalator order in Israel
(CercleFinance.com) - Finnish lift maker Kone said on Monday that it has won an order for 169 escalators for Tel Aviv's light rail line, but did not unveil the value of the deal.
Kone will deliver 106 TransitMaster escalators and 63 MonoSpace elevators, it said. In addition, the contract includes 16 years of maintenance.
Planned to open in 2021, the Red Line is part of the largest and the most complex mass transit project ever executed in Israel.
To be used by up to 80 million annual passengers, the metro line will operate along over 24km, of which 12km is underground.
