Nokia: contract for 4G/LTE private mobile network in Ireland
(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday Nokia announced that, alongside its partner Sigma Wireless, it had been awarded a contract to deploy a private 4G/LTE mobile network for ESB Networks, the owner of the electricity distribution network in Ireland.
The equipment supplier explains that this telecommunications network is intended to form the cornerstone of ESB Networks' ambitions, particularly with a view to integrating renewable energies into its electricity network.
The project should also help to decarbonise its electricity network and electrify its heating and transport systems.
Nokia and Sigma Wireless plan to install the new network over a three-year period.
