Nokia: cancels annual general meeting due to coronavirus
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has decided to cancel its annual general meeting that was scheduled for early April, as the Finnish government has now banned public gatherings of over 10 people due to the coronavirus epidemic.
The telecom gear maker said it will convene a new meeting at a later date, as soon as it is practically possible to organise.
From an operational point of view, Nokia today announced that it has been selected as 5G RAN vendor by Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan's largest telecom operator.
The company will be responsible for 5G radio network deployment in the Central and Southern Region of the country, with rollout already underway.
Nokia also said that it is teaming up with China Mobile to deliver IoT-based highway landslide alert platform.
Despite this news, the Nokia share was down a further 3.7% this morning on Euronext Paris.
