Nokia: to upgrade California's emergency network
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has been selected by California Governor's Office of Emergency Services to upgrade a network that supports first responder communications in the State.
The network upgrade is part of a solution to transform the current time division multiplexing technology system to support advanced Internet Protocol (IP)-based networks, the Finnish telecom gear maker said.
As part of the project, Nokia will replace legacy hybrid microwave equipment with new packet-based technology, while retaining full-time division multiplexing interoperability, it said.
