Nokia: 5G factory fuels productivity gains
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia's 5G "factory of the future" in Oulu, Finland, has generated productivity gains of 30%, the Finnish telecom equipment maker said on Thursday.
Powered by Nokia's own technology, the plant leverages the group's private wireless networks for secure connectivity, IoT analytics running on cloud, and real-time operations data, the company said.
The factory - which produces 1,000 4G and 5G base stations per day - has already delivered 50% savings in time of product delivery to market, and makes annual cost savings of millions of euros, Nokia said.
