IAG: June traffic up thanks to LatAm and Asia-Pacific

(CercleFinance.com) - International Airlines Group, formed by the merger of British Airways and Iberia, posted a rise in its traffic indicators for June, thanks to the growth of its routes to Latin America, Caribbean and Asia Pacific.


Traffic - measured in revenue passenger kilometres - increased by 6.3% from June 2018, while the group's load factor - a measure of how well airlines fill planes - rose by 0.9% to 88.3%.

The number of passengers carried rose by 6.1% to 11.3 million.

IAG shares were up 0.8% at 461.5 pence in London, while Madrid-listed IAG shares were up 0.6% at 5.1 euros.
