IAG: firmly denies being interested in Norwegian

(CercleFinance.com) - Contacted after the publication of an article in the Spanish press claiming taht the company intends to launch a takeover bid on Norwegian Air Shuttle, International Airlines Group (IAG) has denied this.

According to the Spanish media Okdiario, IAG group (British Airways and Iberia) would be looking at launching a takeover bid on the Norwegian low cost airline in the next two weeks. At a price of 75 kronor to 85 kronor per share, this would have valued Norwegian at around 1.1 billion euros, i.e. almost double its current value.

When contacted, IAG firmly denied this, "We have said that we are no longer interested in Norwegian several times in the last few months. Nothing has changed."
