Grifols: starts to make drug against Covid-19
(CercleFinance.com) - The Spanish manufacturer of blood derivatives Grifols announced on Thursday that it has started production of a hyperimmune immunoglobulin as a potential passive immune therapy against Covid-19.
The first samples of this immunoglobulin, developed from antibodies from patients who have spontaneously recovered from the disease, are expected to be available from July for use in clinical trials.
The substance - produced at the Clayton (North Carolina) site - thus becomes the first drug specifically developed against Covid-19.
