Almirall: to receive sales milestones from AstraZeneca.
(CercleFinance.com) - Spain's Almirall said it has been notified by AstraZeneca that positive clinical results have triggered the sales-related milestone payments associated with sales in the US.
In a 36-month trial conducted on 3,500 patients, Tudorza reduced chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbations and demonstrated cardiovascular safety, meeting the primary endpoints, Almirall said.
In November 2017, AstraZeneca already notified Almirall of a sales milestone payment of 80 million dollars to be paid in December, also related to the bronchospasm franchise.
As a reminder, Almirall's respiratory business was transferred to AstraZeneca in 2014.
