Almirall: appoints ex-Sanofi executive as new CEO.
(CercleFinance.com) - Spanish drugs company Almirall said it appointed former Sanofi executive Peter Guenter as its chief executive officer, effective 1 October.
A Belgian citizen, the veteran pharmaceuticals industry executive, who most recently served as head of Sanofi's diabetes and cardiovascular unit, will succeed Spain's Eduardo Sanchiz, who expressed his desire to spend more time with his family and pursue other interests.
The succession plan was initiated over a year ago.
The CEOs will transition over September.
