Siemens Healthineers: launches new ultrasound system
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Healthineers on Friday rolled out a new ultrasound system - Acuson Sequoia - developed in response to the prevalence of overweight and obese patients.
With its architecture and elastography and contrast-enhanced ultrasound updated, the device can produce penetration up to 40cm, adapting to patients' size and personal characteristics.
According to the World Health Organization, 1.9 billion people globally are reported as overweight with 650 million people classified as obese, making these patients with more adipose tissue more difficult to image.
