ProSiebenSat.1: CEO to step down with immediate effect

1 has said it has reorganised its executive board with CEO Max Conze stepping down, in a move intended to increasingly refocus on entertainment.
In a statement on Thursday, ProSiebenSat.1 said it is returning the primary focus of its operating business to the entertainment sector in German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).
As a result, its CEO Max Conze is leaving the company with immediate effect. Meanwhile, its CFO Rainer Beaujean is now assuming the office of Executive Board Chairman.
"This company has far greater potential than is currently credited to it from outside," Beaujean said in the statement.
This strategic move naturally raises the question of the future of the group's "NuCom" e-commerce division, which pools assets in the online price comparison, matchmaking, and beauty & lifestyle businesses.
The Frankfurt-listed shares were up 9% after the announcement.
