Osram: confirms takeover bid from Bain and Carlyle
(CercleFinance.com) - Osram on Wednesday confirmed that it has received a binding offer from private equity firms Bain Capital and Carlyle for a public takeover offer based on a price of 35 euros per share.
"The responsible decision bodies will discuss and decide on this offer shortly," the German lighting group said in a statement.
However, the market clearly didn't like this, with the Osram share down 3% at 33.2 euros this morning in Frankfurt, showing that investors were disappointed by the price. The stock had jumped by 11.5% yesterday.
