flatexDEGIRO: raises forecasts for 2021
(CercleFinance.com) - German online broker flatexDEGIRO announced on Thursday that it is raising its forecasts for FY 2021 after enjoying what is says is a "remarkable" first quarter.
It said it had won 360,000 new customers in the first three months of the year, taking its user base to some 1.6 million.
The online broker continues to benefit from the stockmarket craze, with 33.6 million orders recorded in the first quarter, almost double the 17.3 million transactions in the first quarter of 2020.
On the back of these solid figures, flatexDEGIRO now says that it is aiming to win between 750,000 and 950,000 new customers this year, which would bring its customer base to between two and 2.2 million by the end of the year.
This would have a positive impact on both revenues and profits for both 2021 and the years to follow, the group said.
In Frankfurt, flatexDEGIRO shares are up over 2% on Thursday morning following these optimistic forecasts.
