E.ON: goes green with 2.25 billion euro bond sale

(CercleFinance.com) - German utility giant E.
ON has sold three bond tranches worth a total of 2.25 billion euros on Friday, including a 1 billion euro green bond maturing in 2027 with a coupon of 0.375%.

High demand from investors has enabled E.ON to secure favourable interest terms, the company said.

The proceeds are intended to be used to refinance bonds that are set to mature in 2020 and to fund sustainable infrastructure and energy efficiency projects.

E.ON is currently investing in smart energy networks and sustainable customer solutions.
