Bayer: another positive CHMP opinion for Xarelto.
(CercleFinance.com) - This Friday Bayer said that the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) has granted a positive opinion to update the label for Xarelto to include a 10 mg once daily dose for the extended prevention of recurrent venous thromboembolism.
This label update will apply to patients who have already received at least six months of standard anticoagulation therapy, the German group said.
The final European Commission decision is due by November 2017.
